The Manitoba advantage includes:
- Manitoba Hydro's renewable resources that can meet more of North America's electrical energy needs while further reducing global greenhouse gas emissions.
- Manitoba can double its current generating capacity triggering new investments that are bigger than the Alberta non-renewable oil sands.
- Northern development partnerships with First Nations will ensure that profits, training and employment are shared with northern communities.
- Farmers and processors will provide the renewable materials for the new bio-economy that is replacing the traditional non-renewable resources.
- Manitoba is a national leader in promoting geothermal heat energy pumps for heating and cooling buildings in an economical and environmentally friendly way.
- Manitoba will be the first jurisdiction on the continent to produce hydrogen economically thanks to its abundant supplies of water and hydroelectricity.
